The Power of Protest

While on an exchange program with my high school to Argentina I realized how little I knew about the world around me and that I was not alone in my ignorance.

I was never taught about the numerous military dictatorships that cost many South and Central American countries a generation of citizens. I had never heard about the disappeared people and the mothers and grandmothers who are still fighting to find out what happened to their children who were taken in the night.

I was blissfully unaware, and I am certain that there are many more things of which I am still oblivious. However I will try to prevent the spread of silence about the tragedies of the National Reorganization Process and the amazing women who are still fighting today.
